TOP SPOTS TO SEE
Be sure to see these amazing sites while visiting Jordan!
Petra
Petra was officially named one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. Every year over 1 million people visit this amazing site. This ancient city dates back to around 300 BC. It was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. It is filled with ancient tombs and temples that were carved into pink sandstone cliff. After walking through a narrow canyon called the “Siq”, your eyes will be amazed at the most famous structure in Petra called the Treasury. But there is much more to see. Many people will choose to spend up to 3 days in Petra exploring all the hidden gems. Many also enjoy the evening event called “Petra by Night” where the Siq and Treasury are lit up by thousands of candles and the stars above.

Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum is a desert lovers dream! This protected areas covers thousands of hectares of massive wind carved mountains and red sand dunes. Many people enjoy a jeep tour, hiking, or a camel ride. And the trip is not complete without spending the night in a local Bedouin campground. Visitors can choose from luxurious camps to very rustic camps. The camps will surely serve up a famous meal called “zarb.” It usually consists of meat (lamb or chicken) cooked with vegetables and herbs which are slowly cooked by coals in an underground oven for 2 or 3 hours. After a delicious meal, visitors might have the pleasure of listening to a local musician playing Bedouin songs on an “oud”, which is a stringed instrument similar to a lute.
